County fair model

Description: What would you do if you couldn’t go to the fair? In the late 1930s, a 7-year old boy with polio couldn’t go to the county fair not far from Vincennes, Indiana. His neighbor promised to bring the fair to him. The model includes a carousel, a ferris wheel, farm machinery and domestic arts displays, a grandstand (peopled with bisque dolls), agriculture buildings, concession stands, midway games, ticket booths and a menagerie-everything you would expect from a fair. The furnishings, people, and animals are antique toys. The ferris wheel even moves using a small motor!
