Description: |
Many restaurants in Japan display plastic life-like replicas of their dishes, called mihon, in the restaurant window or display case. These replicas can be samples of the actual dishes or models. Seeing these plastic food entrees makes it possible for tourists, who do not speak or read Japanese, to imagine what they could order in a restaurant. This particular model of a restaurant features three plates of food, possibly mihon, in front of the restaurant for passer-bys to view and possibly stop and enjoy the actual food! |
