President Franklin D. Roosevelt made history when he gave an opening address at the World’s Fair in New York City in 1939 that was televised to only about 7,000 TVs - the only 7,000 in the world! Thousands of people attending the Fair that year saw a Television for the first time. On this RCA Victor, made between 1939 and 1940, one could watch college football games, cartoons, cooking demonstrations, travel programs and dramas. |
