Undoubtedly the world's most famous fictitious cat, Garfield is a lazy, fat, lasagna-eating, wise-cracking, lovable character who hates Mondays, diets and exercise! Cartoonist Jim Davis created Garfield in 1978, never imagining the phenomenal success and global following that the cat and his friends would create. Surprisingly, no cats live in the Jim Davis household--his wife is allergic to them.
