Ammonites are ancient relatives of the modern octopus, squid, and cuttlefish. They lived in a coiled shell, living in the last and largest chamber. Ammonites traveled backwards, seeing where they had been, not where they were going! Even though these particular Ammonites are only a few inches in diameter, some could grow larger then eight feet in diameter! |
