Description: |
The Abalone is a salt water mollusk that lives along the western coast of North America along the intertidal and subtidal waters to a depth of about 60 feet. This animal has a strong muscular foot which it uses to attach itself to rocks. This specimen has been “pearled” meaning that the outer layer of shell has been ground off in order to better show the iridescent, pearly shell within. |
