Description: |
The size of this moth, along with its colorization and decorative eyespots on the fore and hind wings make it a very popular specimen with collectors, and one of the most beautiful moths of North America. It can be found in forests of the eastern half of North America. The caterpillars of this moth eat the leaves of hickory, walnut, persimmon, and birch trees. As adults they are unable to eat. |
