Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt:1. Truck 17 to 1500 South Tibbs. 2. Engine 18 having mechanical problems with hose and hydrant connection equipment. 3. Request for additional aerial ladder equipment to 1500 South Tibbs at Riley chemical fire. 4. Call to police department about Riley fire, apparently Riley Tar and Chemical does not allow police on their property and the police minimize their contact with the company and its employees. 5. Man calling asking for location of his brother James Harris a fire fighter on the force. 6. Snorkel and several engine companies detailed to the Riley fire on South Tibbs. 7. Dispatcher calls another station trying to contact Chief Haley. 8. Engine 28 return to quarters.
