Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 279 N. Miley; Call to water company emergency dispatcher, Peters, regarding hydrants out of service on Rural, from 10th to 17th.; 24 Basil, 3 year old child with heart trouble.; Corner of 38th and Broadway, 3801 N. Broadway, report of smoke. Engine 28 dispatched at 9:04pm; Attention all stations, hydrants are back in service on Rural, from 10th to 17th .; Reports of multiple hydrants out.; 1504 Linden man with trouble breathing. Squad 17 dispatched at 10:33pm. Request for ambulance.; Report of group of boys running and opening fire hydrant at corner of Clyde and English Ave.; 508 Bacon St. roof fire.; 500 S. Belmont blocked at the railroad 10:48pm; 1522 N. Rural, ambulance for an OD.; Residential fire at 2724 N. Dearborn Ave. Engine 10, Engine 21, Truck 10, District 2, dispatched at 10:57pm.; McDonnelly? Calling requesting a police car to be dispatched to the 638 E. 11th at Fire Station 8, for a civilian.; 512 E. New York, 2nd floor, residential/apartment fire. 11:19pm; Dispatcher mentioned that Hendricks is off sick, and Ed Keggers? walked out of the room.
