Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt:1. House explosion at Bradbury and Lyons, caller told to contact Wayne Township for help. 2. Trouble light reported on call box around Indianapolis by dispatcher at Telephone Company. 3. Telephone test requested from Phone Company after reports of malfunctioning call boxes. 4. Call for fire engine to 757 East Moreland Street from telephone operator following call from resident about fire. 5. Police officer calls about fatality in fire on Moreland Street. 6. Request for 14th squad to visit Indiana Museum of Art with gas meter at 110 East 16th Street. 7. School teacher calling for information about a class trip to a fire station. 8. Dispatcher asks fireman over phone for exact location of block of housing near railroads and St. Claire, Moreland Streets. 9. Telephone repair worker calling to test call box system.
