From the Indianapolis Firefighters Museum director, Brian Killilea: Harold Plummer Indianapolis - Harold passed on to Heaven at 91 years young on Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018. Born in Indianapolis on December 9, 1926 to James W Plummer and Amelia (Oberwitte) Plummer, the youngest of 5 children, all whom preceded him in death. He attended Arsenal Technical High School, leaving school early at the age of 17 to service his country in the US Navy during WWII in the Asian Pacific Theater on LST 910, as a cook aboard ship. He developed his extraordinary cooking skill, which followed him into his lifetime career on the Indianapolis Fire Department. Know affectionately by his fellow firefighters as Potsy his 38 year Fire Department career saw him retire in 1989 as a Lt./Division Chiefs Aide. Harold was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners Firemans club and a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his family, dog, traveling, bowling, working on his lake property, fishing, golf, cooking and slots at the casinos. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy, son Stephen (Sherry), daughter Janet Lucas (Mike), 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Viewing will be fro 4-7 pm at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East, Thursday March 29, 2018 and from 10-11 am on Friday March 30th, with services starting at 11 am Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East.
