Rev. John L. Lambert for Bishop, 2002-2004

Description:	Rev. John L. Lambert and his wife Martha A. Lambert came to Bethel in December 2000. Always an active A.M.E. Church member during his life, Rev. Lambert served in church leadership and lay ministry for years before going into ministry full time. Before that time, Rev. Lambert had a long work history in Illinois government and social services. Included in this file are documents related to Rev. Lamberts run for Bishop in the Fourth Episcopal District A.M.E. Church in 2004. The campaign ran from 2002-2004, and the church held many events to help Rev. Lambert with his campaign. The Bethel A.M.E. Church Collection was funded by a 2016 grant from LSTA. The digital partnership was a collaboration between IHS, IUPUI University Library (www.ulib.iupui.edu/digitalscholarship), and Bethel A.M.E. Church.
