The Bethel A.M.E. Church Official Rosters name the church leadership, the various organizations of the church, and members of those organizations. Some of the clubs at Bethel were YPD, Allen Stars and Mothers Sunbeams, Garden Club, Altar Guild, Richard Allen Youth Council, several choirs, Silver Leaf Art Club, Ushers Board and Elders Board. The first roster in this series is dated 1964 and also includes names and addresses of members (which have been omitted from the digital file for privacy). The second roster, made during the pastorship of Rev,. Jonathan A. Dames, has a vocational classification for members and outlines the duties of the official board committees. The Bethel A.M.E. Church Collection was funded by a 2016 grant from LSTA. The digital partnership was a collaboration between IHS, IUPUI University Library (www.ulib.iupui.edu/digitalscholarship), and Bethel A.M.E. Church. |
