Harrison, William Henry, Vincennes, to William Eustis, Secretary of War

Description: Harrison reports on the activities of the Prophet and his followers as relayed to him by the Potawatomi wife of Mr. Johnsons interpreter at Fort Wayne. He explains why he has not called the militia up yet and mentions that Mr. Conner, a Delaware interpreter, reports speaking with the Delaware council about dissuading this tribe from following the Prophet. Lastly, Harrison mentions that he will speak with the leader of the Shaker community near Vincennes and ask him to take Harrisons speech to the Prophet, since the Prophet appears to follow principles similar to those of Shakers.
