Description: |
In 1921 a city wide revival was held in Indianapolis by English evangelist Gypsy Smith, under the guidance of a committee appointed by the Ministers Association and the Indianapolis Church Federation. The goal was to raise funds to build a tabernacle on the site of a vacant lot at Ohio and Alabama Streets. The revival lasted from March 13 to April 10 with several churches pledging donations to raise twenty thousand dollars. The revival was a success and the Cadle Tabernacle was built later that year with a dedication held in October 1921. |
