City Market and Tomlinson Hall, Indianapolis

Description: Bretzman purchased his Cirkut camera in 1906 and, judging by the horse-drawn carriages and attire, this appears to be one of his early photos. Tomlinson Hall was located at the northeast corner of Delaware & Market Streets and included a performing hall, as well as more space for business overflow from City Market. It was dedicated in 1886 and burned down in 1958. A large fountain can be seen at the center of City Market.
