Medinah Band on the Steps of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Indianapolis, June 1919

Description: The Medinah Band, identified by signs on their hats and drum, are assembled on the steps of Monument Circle. The group, from Chicago, Illinois was in Indianapolis for the 45th Annual Session of the Imperial Council in June 1919. Shrine bands gave concerts on the Circle and participated in parades in the downtown during the event.
The original nitrate negative was copied with funds provided by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission in 1990. This digital image was created from that copy. The copy prints and negatives are stored in Microfiche Number order. The Interpositives are stored in PAN number order.
