Englewood Christian Church, Indianapolis, Indiana

Description: A group of parishioners is gathered in front of the Englewood Christian Church located at 57 North Rural Street in Indianapolis. The church began in 1895 with 36 members in a rented hall on the outskirts of Indianapolis. As the church grew this brick structure was built to accommodate the hundreds of new members. The church is still at the same location but the building has been altered. The building seen to the right is Lucretia Mott School, Public School No. 3 located at 27 North Rural Street.
The original nitrate negative was copied with funds provided by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission in 1990. This digital image was created from that copy. The copy prints and negatives are stored in Microfiche Number order. The interpositives are stored in PAN number order.
