Description: |
Group portrait of a Methodist church group on rally day in October 1914. A tradition of holding a festival in the fall to welcome new church members was popular in the early 20th century and still exists today. Music, speakers, and parades were common, and used to rally enthusiasm for church work in the Fall and Winter, when attendance was at its highest. The celebration was often led by Sunday School groups. |
