Officers U.S. General Hospital No. 28, Fort Sheridan Illinois, 1919

Description: Group portrait of Officers in front of the U.S. General Hospital No. 28 and Red Cross Headquarters in Fort Sheridan Illinois in July 1919. Many hold their hats in their lap. Fort Sheridan was commissioned as a military base in 1887 and operated until 1993. It was used as a military hospital in the first World War and was also known as Lovell General Hospital. It ceased operation in 1920.
