Description: Walter Brandy, a young African American, was a graduate of Spiceland Academy in 1905. His father Charles, was a former slave and a barber in Spiceland for fifty-eight years. Walter is shown here in his student days; his hair is parted in the middle and combed down. He is dressed in a light tweed suit and polka dot tie, with a flower in his lapel.
