Description: |
The Hoover Block in Spiceland, Indiana was made up of several buildings. A group of men and boys are gathered outside the Ratliff Groceries & Hardware where hammocks and bananas are on display. The tallest building is known as Hoover Hall and was built in 1875. The building today has been restored by the Spiceland Preservation and Tourism Society and serves as Spicelands community center, museum and art gallery. The three connecting buildings to the left of Hoover Hall were razed 16 August 1982. |
