Fries Family Funeral Cortege

Description: The town of Brookville was particularly devastated with 15 people dying in the March 1913 flood. Someone from the town made it to Connersville and sent out this message: Levee broken. Valley flooded. Heavy loss life. Paper Mill destroyed and all bridges out. Eight members of the Fries family, spanning three generations, lost their lives. One of the bodies was never found. the funerals were held the Monday following the flood.
