Description: |
In the summer of 1898 Hoosier artists T. C. Steele and J. Ottis Adams traveled to Metamora in Franklin County to paint. While there they took a horseback ride to nearby Brookville. The town reminded them of Europe with its moss-covered roofs, tall church steeples, and old mills. Years before they had studied together at the Royal Academy in Munich. |
