Fort Knox, near Vincennes, Indiana

Description: Artistic rendition of Fort Knox perched atop a hill near Vincennes, Indiana. The fort was built to help protect American settlers as tensions increased with area Indians. The wooden structure consisted of a few buildings surrounded by a palisade fence. The fort overlooked the Wabash river.
