Old Stump Mill, South Boston, Indiana

Description: View of a stump mill near the town of South Boston in Indiana. The mill is a wooden structure built over a large stump. Horses would be tied to the circular structure in the foreground and their movement would power the mill.
The back of the postcard includes information about the mill. It would grind about 4 bushels of corn or wheat in an hour. This type of mill was used in parts of the country where water was not available.
