Sunday morning the prince spent quietly with Mr. Wong. Many local ministers felt he should have been taken to church. The issue was discussed in newspapers for several days with Mr. Fortune finally issuing the statement that none had invited him. Sunday afternoon 10,000 people gathered in Fairview Park to see the prince. He road in a coach pulled by white horses. It was a record day for the sale of merry-go-round tickets in the park, 3,348 at 5¢ each. |
