Shafer Lake, Buffalo, Indiana (now part of Monticello, Indiana)

Description: Lake Shafer located on the north side of Monticello came into existence in 1923 when the Insull (hydroelectric) Company constructed the Norway Dam on the Tippecanoe River. The area developed into a popular tourist and recreation spot and the site of Indiana Beach.
