Looking north on Main Street, Cromwell, Indiana

Description: Cromwell was laid out in 1853 by Harrison Wood who named it for Englishman Oliver Cromwell. In 1911 the town still had a dirt Main Street, Cromwell did not see its first paved street until 1925. It is the smallest incorporated town in the county.
