General View Lawrenceburg, Indiana

Description: Indiana’s fourth oldest city, Lawrenceburg was laid out in April 1802 by Samuel Vance, James Hamilton, and Benjamin Chambers. Named for the wife of Samuel Vance, whose maiden name was Lawrence, it became the county seat of Dearborn County in 1803.
