State Street Corner of Hohman, Hammond, Indiana

Description: Hammond was first settled in 1851, making it the oldest of the large cities in the area. The first industry in the region was a meat packing business in Hammond. The town was originally called Hohman, a name used by Hoosier author Jean Shepherd in his stories.
