Michigan Avenue North of Pennsylvania Avenue, Indiana Harbor

Description: East Chicago was incorporated in 1889. Inland Steel Company moved to Indiana Harbor in 1901. The Indiana Harbor Ship Canal runs between Lake Michigan and the Grand Calumet River. This street scene shows progress in the Indiana Harbor portion of the city.
