Harmar describes the militias encounter with Native Americans in a letter with two separate entries. On October 18th, Harmar tells of the state of an abandoned Miami Indian village. On October 24, Harmar reports on the results of a battle between the Native Americans and the militia. St. Clair, Arthur, 1734-1818 Both letters were written on one large sheet of paper folded in half--the first letter (1 page) is on the front and the second (2 pages) is on the inside pages. The address of the recipient is on the back page. |
