This small collection folder includes handwritten general orders issued by Anthony Wayne from his headquarters in Greenville, Ohio from July-December 1795. It also includes typescript calendars of Wayne's activities, as well as a description of the original materials obtained through the Charles Hamilton Auction, Circa 1966. These orders were issues just before and after the Treaty of Greenville. A canceled entry on August 6, 1795 relates to a fireworks display made to impress American Indians who were at Greenville for Treaty negotiations. On August 22,1795 transport was arranged for women and children surrendered by the American Indians. |
