Dunn in a deposition states that he overheard Mr. Menar at Kaskaskia say that the inhabitants of Kentucky were ready to revolt against the federal government over taxing whiskey and stills. Dunn also states that the people of Fort Massac talked about Judge Benjamin Sebastians clandestine negotiations with Spain regarding the possibility of Kentuckys break from the United States.
