Description: |
A young boy is seated in a carriage holding the reins of a pinto pony. They are in the yard, near a house. The message on the back of the card reads: Mr. James Whitcomb Riley:- I am 12 years old and this is my pony Prince. Could you not write a two or four line stanza of poetry about him? or if your hand is not too lame we would like your autograph for an exhibit. We read all of your poems. I like best The Raggedy Man, Our Hired Girl, A Boys Mother, and That old Sweetheart of Mine. A pleasant Xmas to you. |
