Family group at Ohio River overlook, Porters Point, ca. 1962

Description: Griffin relatives gather at the scenic overlook of the Ohio River at Porters Point. The property along the river was often the location for family reunions and picnics. Porters Point was acreage along the Ohio River owned by Frederick Porter Griffin, son of Maurice Griffin, and grandson of Patrick Griffin. Fred named the area Porters Point after his great grandfather Judge William A. Porter, who had owned a portion of this same land in the 1850s.
