Portrait of Margaret Griffin McGrain (1836-1901). A sister of Patrick Griffin, she was an aunt to the seven children of Patrick and Helen Porter Griffin, and was lovingly referred to as Aunt Maggie. Margaret was married to Thomas McGrain, Jr. of Corydon, Indiana. Brothers-in-law Patrick Griffin and Thomas McGrain Jr. became partners and opened the mercantile business of Griffin and McGrain on the square in Corydon in the late 1860s. |
