Albert Smith at work in his barber shop

Description: Albert Smith, age 66, at his barber shop in Frenchtown, Indiana. Smith operated what he called the biggest little barber shop in the country near his home on Highway 337 in Spencer Township just south of Frenchtown. Smith gave up farming after several years and opened his shop in the early 1920s. The rural shop served people in the neighborhood and surrounding area. Smith was widely known as friendly and obliging.
