Charles Rupp with log

Description: Timber man Charles Rupp of the Flatwoods community leans against a log from a large Burr-Oak tree on his farm. The log was 39 inches in diameter at the top and 60 inches at the base. It measured 12 feet long and its bark was three inches thick. The log contained 910 board feet of lumber. It was one of seven logs that Rupp sawed from the tree. In the upper left corner is a smaller inset photo of the log being hauled on the back of Rupps truck. A native of Webster Township, Rupp was a lumber dealer, farmer, and cabinet finisher.
