Description: |
Festival goers aboard a carnival ride wait for it to begin at the 1962 Pancake Festival in Corydon. The ride was positioned on Elm Street near its intersection with Walnut Street. Behind the ride is the Stockslager House. This large two-story, frame dwelling was razed, and the Visitors Center now stands on the site. A portion of Governor Hendricks House and an associated building can be seen along Walnut Street in the image, and in the distance through the trees, the old Corydon Grade School is visible. This two-story brick building which sat at the southeast corner of High and Mulberrry Streets was razed in 1969. |
