Fairview Boulder, Randolph County

Description: On boulder: Fairview, on the trail of the Mississinewa. In the middle of Dec. 1812, Col. John B. Campbell, with 600 mounted rifleman passed over the trail to aid from the Battle of the Mississinewa. Fairview was laid out in March 1838 by Thomas Hubbard, Samuel Boots, Nathan Godwin, Daniel Culver. The town became the metropolis of the Mississinewa, and the wholesale commercial center of a vast region, [?] schoolhouse, 1837-Log church, 1839. This monument erected in March 1932, J. S. [?] and Carl Morrow. [?], Historian.
