Clay Whitley

Description: Text from back of photo: Clay Whitley. Superintendent - December 1908 - March 1919. Superintendent of S.S. when the Universalist S.S. was awarded the trophy for largest attendance at S.S. of any school of the city during the summer. Left funds giving interest $50.00 a year for S.S. picnic or treat at Christmas. At one time he gave each S.S. scholar a bank account with $1.00 as interest.
