Bridge to Tomorrow: a Reflection of Higher Education is a public service film commissioned by Ball State University designed to document the academic mission of and student experience at Ball State University. The film was shot in 1966 and 1967 and was premiered at Emens Auditorium on May 14, 1967. The opening scene featuring John J. Pruis was shot in 1968 and the film was edited to include this new introduction. The film was directed by Dale Sharkey, written by David Keller, produced by Glenview Productions, and narrated by Carl Greyson. Bridge to Tomorrow documents the Ball State University experience from the perspective of an incoming student named Vicki, played by Vicky Fuller. Included is footage off the Studebaker West Complex, Noyer Complex, the L.A. Pittenger Student Center, Beneficence, Mens Gym (later Irving Gymnasium), Emens Auditorium, the 1966 Ball State Homecoming, the University Singers, students ice skating on the Duck Pond, and Frog Baby by Edith Barretto Stevens Parson at the Ball State Art Gallery. Also included is footage of lectures given by Ball State University professors Wallace Magoon and Mildred Mim Ballou.
