The 1980s was a time of big and bold fashion. It featured unique colors and patterns, textures, and inventive silhouettes. This decade saw the rise of the massive shoulder pad, being featured on everything from formal dresses to business blazers. Inspired by the disco craze of the 1970s, many of the garments in the 80s featured shimmery fabrics made of the newly popular polyester. Overall, the 1980s was an eclectic decade for both men and women, taking inspiration from pop culture to create a decade unlike any other.
