1950s-1960s womens hat

Description:	Brimless pink floral circlet hat with netting. Bottom of hat band is decorated with rose pink ribbon and synthetic woven straw. Sides and top of hat are decorated with artificial fabric flowers. Flower petals are gradient, light pink at the center to pink at the edge of the petal. The gradient of some petal edges are from light pink to light leaf green. In the center of the flowers are cranberry and metallic colored wire pip sprays. At the crown of the hat, magenta colored netting closes at the center of the circle over the crown of the wearer, and the same netting falls over the top of the hat just below the bottom edge. Circlet hat Multicolored; Pink; Pink (light); Magenta; Green (leaf) Floral Now housed in the Department of Applied Studies, this hat belonged to Joe and Norma Book. Joe Book (1919-2016) was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and educated in engineering. In 1982, he retired from working at Ball State University as the superintendent of housing. Norma C. Book (1927-2021) was a Master Gardner and loved needlework, knitting, quilting, and sewing. She was also passionate about painting with all types of paint on canvas as well as painting porcelain.
