1910s womens dress

Description: Floor length lingerie dress made of a lightweight white cotton and sheer lace and net. The bodice has a rounded neckline with lace inset and net ruffle. The bodice front is decorated with needle weaving, floral whitework embroidery, and insertion lace. This decoration is repeated on the skirt. The waistband is a wide band of needle lace. The long sleeves are decorated with rows of small pintucks and bands of lace. The cuffs are sheer net.
The lingerie dress was a style popular between the 1890s and 1910s. This type of dress was worn during the day, often in the summer months. They were usually made of lightweight white fabric and decorated with ruffles, bands of lace, and pintucks.
