Avon To Honor Retiring Teacher - Arthur F. Davis. The Avon High School Alumni Association will have a reception at the National Guard Armory, 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, in honor of Arthur F. Davis. The reception will precede the annual Avon High School alumni dance. Mr. Davis, teacher in the Avon-Washington Township Community School Corporation for the past 38 years, retired from teaching at the end of the current school year. Feeny as he is affectionately known by friends and former students, graduated from Avon High School in 1923 and from Central Normal College. Before coming to Avon as a teacher, Feeny had taught four years in West Virginia. During his teaching career at Avon, Feeny was all sports coach from 1929 to 1947....The Avon High School Alumni Association cordially invites Feenys friends, teaching and coaching associates to attend the reception. |
