Wendell Trent Bronze Star Newspaper Article

Description: Newspaper article: Wendell Trent, Ph. M. 3-C of 515 S. Center St., on duty with the 4th Marine division, was awarded the Bronze Star medal in a celebration July 4 overseas, for heroic action against the enemy. The citation reads, He volunteered to attempt a rescue with full knowledge of the hazard involved of three wounded men, when informed that three others had been wounded in attempts to rescue them. For a period of two hours he boldly went from one to another, administering first aid, then helped to carry the casualties across fire swept terrain. His courage and conduct throughout were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
