Engine House No. 5

Apparatus Room Doors of Old Fire Station No. 5, 1405 Broadway Avenue, the new home of the Fort Wayne Professional Firefighters Union - Local 124. These are the original doors that were built in 1893. Over 100 years of paint was removed and minor repairs were made to the doors by Firefighters Donald K. Michell, Jr. and Monte Nelson. The doors are swing out doors and are spring loaded. All the springs, straps, hinges and latches were stripped and coated and are in original shape. Photo was taken at the open house on 09/11/2007 |
